The songs are linked, which isn’t a concept they’re simply linked. Even though I believe in the spiritual world, I also appreciate the songs’ voodoo element. I don’t believe in God or Satan because I don’t believe in either of them. Volbeat signed a recording contract with Rebel Monster Records, a sublabel of Mascot Records, after selling 1,000 copies of their Beat the Meat demo tape. Volbeat, the band’s third album, was given the name because of Dominus’ third album. I was completely unaware of anything like this at the time. Sad Man’s Tongue was featured on our wedding album in 2008. The style of Volbeat was described by Frozenfire as “true to their word.” However, I don’t know anyone who combines the beefy riffs of Metallica and the rock-a-billy stylings of punk to great effect. They now sound much more like a pop-punk band than they did when they first started. They were more unique than anything else in those early days, regardless of religion.

In this band, punk and metal collide with Elvis/Johnny Cash- style vocals. The band has been nominated for several Grammy Awards and has won multiple Danish Music Awards. The band is known for their high-energy live shows and their use of rock ‘n’ roll iconography.

They have also incorporated elements of hip hop, reggae and classic rock and roll into their music. Volbeat’s musical style combines rock and roll, rockabilly, metal and hardcore punk. The band is signed to Dutch label Mascot Records and has released seven studio albums, its most recent being Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie (2016).
